World over, the Alliance Française is a non-partisan non-profit making association with local rights, governed by a Committee of local voluntary personalities elected by members of the association. The Committee of Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur is made up of ten members elected for two years during an Annual General Meeting, and two Ex-officio members appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the Cultural Counsellor of the French Embassy and the Director. The Committee elects through secret ballots a bureau made up of a President, two Vice-Presidents and a Treasurer. The Committee meets at least six times a year to decide on the guidelines concerning the running of the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur.

PROFILE PRESIDENT ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DE KUALA LUMPUR 

HRH TENGKU ZATASHAH BINTI SULTAN IDRIS SHAH 
 
Tengku Zatashah, daughter of the Sultan of Selangor, has been long affiliated with France and the French language and culture. She graduated with BA (Hons) in French and Spanish at Middlesex University London, followed by Diplôme Cours de Civilisation Française at the Sorbonne University in Paris. In 2004, Tengku Zatashah worked at the prestigious French cosmetics company L’Oreal at the Paris headquarters for 4 years before returning to Malaysia with her French husband. In 2010, she joined Alliance Francaise de Kuala Lumpur Executive Committee as Vice-President and in 2012 she was elected as President of Alliance Francaise de Kuala Lumpur. 
 
Tengku Zatashah is Chairman of Light Cibles Malaysia – a French lighting design consultancy firm with notable projects that include Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral, Charles de Gaulles Airport, Grande Arche de la Defense, Mont St Michel in France and many more around the world.

Jean-Frédéric F. WEBER is a French academician attached to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Puncak Alam, Selangor. He is 56 years old, married to a Malaysian lady, and has been in Malaysia since 1997. He is heading a research lab devoted to the study of microbial metabolites from the local biodiversity for drug discovery purpose. He has been an Executive Committee member of AFKL since 1998.

Denis H. Bastien is a French businessman based in Kuala Lumpur. He is married to a Malaysian Chinese woman, and has been in Malaysia since 2005. He is 49 years old. He is the chairman of Dinarion Capital, a financial consulting firm, as well as Earth Vision Ltd, an environmental company. His main activity is to assist international projects for governments and private investors, and help them to conduct their business plan and raise capital. He is mostly specialized in environmental projects ( renewable energy, waste management and carbon credits), and globally speaking infrastructure projects, financed through bonds issuance, islamic finance, or bank instruments. He has been a member of AFKL executive Committee since 2012.
