Culture is a veritable vector of exchange and dialogue. Therefore, apart from the academics, the Alliance with the support from the French Embassy, regularly organises shows and events: musical concerts, dance shows, film festivals, literary and scientific lectures, art exhibitions, plays, etc.

Printemps des poètes – March

Printemps des poètes brings poetry in the limelight . Discover poets, from classic to modern, exchange your favourite texts, share your passion for famous or less known writers, read poems in front of an audience, put the best texts on the walls, in the tress, slip it under the door, anything goes !

Francophonie – French Language Week – April

Once every year, the French language is celebrated worldwide: exhibitions, lectures, film festivals, meetings, get togethers are organised to give you the opportunity to share your passion for the French Language

French Art Festival – May

The French Art Festival brings to you every year the best of the French Culture: artists, performers, French Art de vivre, Film Festival... Organised with the Embassy of France, attractive programmes offeringFrench Culture at your doorstep.

Fête de la Musique – World Music Day - June

Fête de la musique is a festival organised worldwide, based on sharing pleasure and passion for music, free of charge. You can play, sing, enjoy music by others, meet musicians, singer and other music lovers! A very popular festival, not to be missed.

Mois du film documentaire - November

In frame of the French Festival « Le mois du film documentaire » (dedicated to documentaries), the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur is organizing a screening a week in November. A wide range of topics from Environment to globalization issues will demonstrate the diversity of documentary and to discover a part of French culture.

Cinem'Alliance – Friday at 8:00 pm

Come and enjoy the French Cinema once a week at Lorong Gurney Centre with attractive programmes, from classics (Resnais, Renoir, Godard, Lelouch, Truffaut...) to latest movies (starring Marion Cotillard, Juliette Binoche, Mathieu Kassovitz...) rediscover the French Cinema (Members only).

Exhibition & Lectures

We organise for you art exhibitions of photographs, paintings, sculptures... to promote the local or French Artists. The AFKL alos organises lectures and talks by local and foreign speakers, to enhance the culture links between Malaysians and French people.
